Sheherzad Kaleem is an award-winning documentary filmmaker who currently lives in the United Kingdom. She completed a Bachelors degree in Economics with a minor in Fine Arts from the University of Virginia after which she returned to Pakistan and joined an advertising agency. She also worked as a freelance radio jockey with City FM 89 and did some freelance writing for Dawn newspaper. Kaleem then returned to the United States, where she obtained a Masters degree in Journalism and Documentary Production from New York University. Her thesis film called ‘I…am a woman’ won the Gracie Allen Student Award and was screened at festivals in Karachi and New York. She has made films for renowned UK based charities such as The Prince’s Trust and Amnesty International. Her short films have been screened on the Community Channel in the UK.
